This study day has been designed for Q members who have a role in building capability and capacity for quality improvement within or amongst organisations. Attendees are encouraged to bring a colleague to maximise the practical application of ideas and approaches within their own organisation or network.

The Sheffield Microsystems Coaching Academy (MCA) has been developing coaches in quality improvement for over five years, working with health and care teams across Sheffield and beyond. This study day will provide attendees with an opportunity to consider and learn from the challenges of building capacity for continuous improvement through a “deep dive” into the development of the Sheffield MCA. Attendees will hear how the Sheffield MCA has grown and developed, including key lessons learnt along the way.

Using group coaching, attendees will be given time to consider and reflect upon how this learning might be applied and to think “beyond the tools”.

This event runs directly after the Sheffield MCA Expo ’17, held on 5th & 6th June 2017 which gives attendees to both events an enhanced view of the wider impact of improvement work in Sheffield and beyond. Although it is not absolutely essential to attend Expo ’17 the Q event has designed to complement it and build on the learning and experience.
